Activity Overview

This three-hour workshop aims to introduce the Thai language and culture to newcomers, helping participants gain familiarity with the language, basic cultural practices and norms and build some bearings for navigating Thailand safely and effectively.

Activity Goals

Students will practice Thai language skills by participating in fun activities like scavenger hunts, small group work and individual practice. Communication skills include greeting and introducing oneself, buying foods and drinks, asking where things are, ordering things and navigating basic-needs in a second language environment, in addition to several cultural tips that will allow participants to make meaningful connections while in Thailand.
